That was totally me. In the spring most of my city was out of power after a bad storm. Much of the city was affected for a week. My neighborhood had no internet or power for almost 12 days. It was a busy time at work, but there was nothing anyone could do. I dragged it out as long as possible.

There's a coffee shop near my house I go to often (Tim Hortons). There's a huge parking lot there. Powerlines were down on the main street just beside it, so it was basically a dead end, despite being a major artery in my district. It was basically a tailgate-fest for the small number of us that would bother accessing it. With no light pollution, it was like being at the cottage. Despite some challenges, it was the best staycation I ever had. I have a decent array of power boxes/bars with solar panels, as I'm a bit of a prepper. I was charging Cpap machines and phones galore for friends/family while we watched movies and played vids on our Switches.
