The problem is that Halloween almost isn't even a horror franchise anymore and that's because Michael Myers is way too fucking cool, everybody loves him and roots for him to murder people in brutally creative ways. I was legit sad when he was getting beaten, stabbed and shot in the street by the mob in Halloween Kills.

Well yes, of course. It's a different vibe with Michael Myers though, he's a badass. On the contrary with obvious examples, I definitely wasn't rooting for the Satanic coven in Rosemary's Baby, Pazuzu in The Exorcist or Jack in The Shining (even though Dick Hallorann's death was hilarious). I didn't want Ash to die in the OG Evil Dead because Bruce's charisma was obvious even as a green AF actor.

This was pure joy though, pretty awesome practical fx work too.
