I grew up in the 90s and 00s before this CRT nonsense. In school I learned about slavery, Jim Crow, lynchings, Japanese concentration camps in WWII and the Holocaust among other things. There was even a small room in my HS library that went into greater detail about the atrocities committed during the Holocaust.

Yup.

Went to a public school K-8 and we learned all about it. Even saw a picture just like that one. Even back then there was a lol of some stuff in school. Not saying the history lessons were, they were just history lessons taught straightforward. My school was ~80% Black and Latino, one of the best public schools in the state. We all got along. And we learned about some ugly shit and we learned to be kind to each other regardless of where we came from. As it should have been.
