Because those protesters are getting millions from the NED and the US state department. I think there are about 64 or so opposition groups in Cuba funded by the US. As for HK they have a shitload of cash earmarked for them in the covid relief bill to add to the cash pile they had already received. I don’t like Ted Cruz but at least he had the decency to block the bill that now seems to be going though to grant visas to anyone who plays a “significant” part in the violent disorder in HK.
