Then what's the point of even banning anyone if they're just allowed back?

I'm capable of conducting myself on this forum in a way that has never gotten me a single yellow card, yet legitimately banned posters are allowed back with impunity.

Why even bother banning posters or having rules of any kind if the moderators won't even honor them?

When a poster comes back they do so on a shortened leash. Break that trust enough and you don't come back. There are plenty of posters on he permaban list.

I've had to deal with a slew of anti-masker protests over the last few months. While I do not agree with them, each and every one left the area cleaner than when they got there.

That's been a staple of right-wing protests going back to the Tea Party days.

After the first few, the media took video of a little trash that was left afterwards and put the clips on prime time saying "OMG, these racists are trashing the areas they're protesting!" and after that the protest organizers made sure to communicate to everyone to not only pick up your trash but to pick up any trash you see.

Meanwhile, left-wing protests, pride marches, and riots..... yeah, they clearly care about their communities and environment.

Its going to get REALLY disgusting when police get defunded and even trash trucks refuse to enter some neighborhoods.

So, when lefties talk about how much they care about the environment that's why everyone, but the very stupid, don't believe them.

All that does is aid bad faith posters in distancing themselves from the awful things they've said, only encouraging more of the same behavior in the future.

Like Homer/Ric in this very thread.

I'm trying my hardest to imagine a system that could be less effective in accomplishing it's stated goal, and I'm having a really hard time.

I wish you luck in trying to square that circle.
