Theres a manga (Japanese comic book) the anime is based on. Almost all anime’s are based on manga’s, and other than filler, anime’s follow the source material 10000x closer than western “based on” adaptations

Yeah a lot of manga are pretty decent and not full of the filler crap. Adults can read manga without it being silly or full of goofy crap. Been thinking about reading Kimetsu the blade of demon destruction. My kids like the idea of it but are too scared to watch it, and have tones of questions. So I’d regret read it when I’m on the train or whatever and be able to answer them
