Actually, that first one is pretty clever.

Still dangerous as hell and completely illegal, but the safest of all the examples I've seen so far.

Why is it illegal? Those containers are regularly used for all sorts of chemicals, usually ones way worse than gasoline. As long as he cleaned it before putting gas in it he should be fine.
