I would just like the point out that the US could have put a man into space first, but a single person held up a manned flight because they wanted another test flight for safety. They also could have had the first satellite, if not for the government wanting the Navy to have first crack at it instead of a former nazi. They also got to the moon while the Soviet program sputtered out because there wasnt enough money to fund both the space project and the military.
As for the Berlin picture, that's nice. It only cost Stalin an entire generation of men being slaughtered to pull it off. Sometimes by their own commanders to boot, but whatever. Getting to Berlin first was far more important than anything else. Gotta love them phyrric victories!
But those icebreakers sure are cool, I guess. So 1 out of 3 isnt a complete failure. Unlike communism.
