I gave her an honest chance and looked up some of her stand-up from before she became a television personality.

She failed to elicit a single chuckle from me.

Comedy is another area of art where the number of willing participants is going to outnumber the people who will be actually talented or successful.

She wanted to be a comedian, she simply lacked the talent and charisma to do so.

Different peoples' struggles and history are very distinct. Sometimes they aren't comparable.
