This was actually the first draft of "Idiocracy".

The first scene was in a classroom where a teacher asked students "What's 2 + 2?" and a child would answer "5". The scene would continue with the teacher saying it is correct because the student "feels" it's correct and they do not want to hurt the child's feelings. After all, hurt feelings equates to lack of confidence, etc. It was supposed to be a critique that facts < feelings in current academia/society.

During test screening of the movie, that scene made people feel uncomfortable. Plus, they felt like Mike Judge was insulting teachers rather than society as a whole. So, that scene was axed and was re-written to show the poor/uneducated having more kids than the career-driven couple that waited too long to start a family.
