Objectively speaking, y'all is more grammatically sophisticated than so-called proper English in that it distinguishes itself from the second person singular. You does not.

Right, so subjectively, you don't like it. I understand that. My point was that objectively, it is more grammatically sophisticated. So it's less lazy, because it works harder to be precise. If you don't use y'all, you are unable to grammatically distinguish between the second person singular and the second person plural. That's a fact, not an opinion.

Early modern English used ye as the second person plural pronoun, and y'all is used identically to ye. Modern English has been dumbed down and lost the distinction.
