I think the point was missed that many people are at higher risk to die from poverty than COVID-19 right now. If more people die from poverty than COVID-19, then what did we accomplish? You have to pick your poison. It seems like some people only understand one perspective, or the other, and don't have empathy for suffering by way of the one that impacts them the least.
