Just saw that Melvin Guillard fought last week at Fury FC. He put up a decent effort against a 5-0 prospect but still came out with another loss.

Here is his record since 2012:

In unrelated news, Brandao has won his last two fights in main events, including a spinning back kick KO, both of which were massive upsets, winning and defending the Tuff-N-Uff title.

Crazy he fought to a SD against a prime Gaethje. I remember that fight and it was legitimately quite close.

Damn I used to train with Melvin at the Blackzilians back in the day. He’s a good dude and was an incredible talent at that time. I don’t like seeing that he’s still fighting though 😢

Those insane Judo throws he pulled off on guys like Tibau do not get on the highlight reels like they deserve. He was a student of the great Ron Tripp.

No, after he KOd Dunham people were thinking he was going to KO Edgar if he got the shot. He was like the minus 600 favorite over Joe Lauzon.
I could see it. Dunham was coming off a close FOTN with Sean Sherk then Guillard took him out in a round. The optics would have been very positive. Plus Melvin just had that scary kind of knockout power. After 5 wins in a row he would have been near contendership.

GFL is done, but this is what it would’ve looked like.

I remember in 2011 people actually thought he could be champion. Lauzon put an end to that.
Nobody with a brain thought he'd be champ imo, and Frank Trigg were the two guys people kept saying would lose putting on a neck tie.

Dude lost to Josh Neer and Rich Clementi for fucks sake lmao

Was Ron Tripp the guy who cornered him back in his UFC days? I remember that one of his cornermen was his judo coach.

You probably weren't watching in 2011 but Melvin had serious hype
