Happy Birthday Melvin!
Melvin's last MMA win was against Gesias Cavalcante in WSOF, back in 2014.
Although he last fought in MMA in 2019.
His last UFC win was a k.o of Mac Danzig back in 2013. He parted ways with the UFC after a decision loss against Michael Johnson.
His FIRST UFC win was against Marcus Davis, via TKO in T.U.F finale in Nov 2005.
49 year old Marcus Davis incidentally, won his last bout in November 2021. Which means he has a more recent win than Melvin...
Of Melvin's 16 final MMA fights over a 7 year period, he missed weight 8 times. This effectively meant his opponents had a 50/50 chance of a disadvantage.
That said, the first time he missed weight was against Cerrone in 2012, where he lost by KO.
The only win when missing weight was also his most recent win listed earlier.
A 1 in 7 win rate when eating too many doughnuts.
As far as I know, he only won 2 times in his 7 bare knuckle bouts in two different promotions.
All in all, a bit of a long slide downwards for Melvin.
All that listed, he was still exciting and I loved watching him win fights. I hope his health is good. Quite sad seeing such massive runs of losses. Just like Bigfoot.
