clames referee Gary Foreman failed to properly officiate the bout where matt got eye pocked several times....could have been a different outcome...what do you think?

The eye pokes definitely played a big part in that fight. I don't think anything will happen but I don't think he's wrong for trying.

I think he is wrong.

He was asked if he could continue and he said yes. He didn't lose on points, so it wouldn't have mattered if the ref deducted points.
If he was affected that much and couldn't see, he should have let the fight go to a no-contest.

Browne should be happy because he won't get special treatment for being Hog Rousey's BF anymore.

^This!

I feel for him but I think he has zero chance. And you don't really get two bites at the apple. If you choose to continue then you take your chances.

Even though a fighter realistically on the last fight of their contract pretty much has to go for it and keep fighting trying to get the win.

lol at people saying he us wrong.

Don't you realize that he is put in a lose-lose situation? If he quits, even for good reason, he might even get fired (it has happened before). If he continues, his conditions will be worse than before.

It's up for the commissions and refs to put the offender in such situation (take one point and threat to a DQ).

As long as offenders get a pass, I'll support the "victims".

The guy shouldn't have even been able to be a ref. He's a promoter, and it's in the Massachusetts regulations that you can't promote fights and be a ref, due to conflict of interest. He was on twitter about his promotion just before the Meathead/Browne fight. But fuck it, he knows the guys on the commission, so lets let him play. wtf, over.

Read his complaint, the ref made a shit ton of mistakes even before that.

And he told Meathead not to jump into his fingers.

If Rumble's "loss" to Koscheck didn't get overturned, then I don't see how any TKO loss due to eye poke would ever be overturned. Meathead didn't get finished as a direct result of an eye poke, Rumble did.

You didnt read his appeal. His appeal holds a lot of validity. The referee acted out of his jurisdiction at multiple points in the fight as his appeal states with cited rules.

Probably wont win though.

hell yeah, EF Browne, dirty fighter, sad and pathetic, can't win without cheating.

When was someone fired for quitting due to an injury?

he wasn't going to win regardless of the eye pokes or the dodgy ref. The nickname fits. Nice Av TS

Do we ever see fighters quit when asked if they want to quit or continue? He said in his MMA Hour interview that he literally told the ref/doctor that he was seeing double and needed a minute to get his sight back to single vision. Of course a fighter isn't going to quit in the moment. That's when the ref needs to step in and make a decision in the fighters best interest.

I don't think TRavis did it on purpose but that fight should have been a NC. In no way should it be considered a win.

There's no possible positive outcome from multiple eye pokes and the worst thing to do in the situation is allow the fight to continue when it's clearly visible the fighter has been effected by it. Ref should have stopped the fight.

I don't like Meathead at all. I think he's a massive douchebag, but I couldn't help but agree with his interview after the fight that stopping it would have been the best outcome.

agreed...but i do like meathead.

So the Ref should've took a Point away from Browne. It doesn't matter. Browne still knocked him out. What else was the Ref supposed to do?
