Me sparring a wild beginner and a boxer.

Was the beginner guy really that wild? He didn't seem like he was throwing too hard or anything.

P.S. The Dolce diet seems to be doing wonders for you.

Nah. I was kinda tame when the camera was on. :)

He is not a jerk or anything. Just goes wild often in sparring.

I spar very good people 3-4 times a month. But i travel to other gyms to get good sparring. So i dont bother filming sparring when i visit gym that are not mine

he seemed pretty controlled most of the time. as time went on and fatigue was setting in he definitely spazzed a little bit and wasn't as controlled, but not bad. for you i just want to mention that you seem to always move straight back. second, why do you let him land that right low kick so much? doesn't help you if you aren't training to react to that attack and take it every time.

The beginner had better boxing than the boxer.

do you ever spar anyone decent?

Lol...I need a sparring showcase video of my own. I think every sparring vid I've recorded for the most part has been against pro or amateur fighters that outclass me. Would be nice to look good in a sparring vid for once lol.

Frode, you may want to consider putting up some sort of barrier, or at the very least tape off sections of that floor to work inside of. Particularly during sparring, that's where spacial (ring) awareness and distance control are really developed. Several times during that "sparring" session, it's more liken to a 40yd dash vs a 20ft ring..... It aint WWF, ya actually have to fight in the ring...... Cheers brotha! Nice work.

Yeah we often lay a rope on the floor to emulate a small ring.

What's your take on wearing bright-colored gloves, or even colors which are more visible to the eye...

I've always thought they telegraph punches, as they are slightly more visible to the eye, to include peripheral vision.

That lunging lead uppercut looks like it could fortell a tragedy in the making.

lol...i dont consider myself good, but i havent gotten to spar someone at my level pretty much ever; any videos i have shared have me going against people who clearly outclass me, which is pretty much the story of my life as it pertains to martial arts.. Once again, not that im good; but im gonna look alot worse vs guys that much better than me ( saamag ammy pro fighters)

my recent sparring experiences getting to spar a wsof guy/fmr ufc guy and a invicta fighter who was supposed to fight cyborg prior to the leslie smith fight being announced...

Have you ever even considered position? Are you one of those who think it's important to look cool? The first guy took position on you constantly. You seemed to don't care or don't know what was happening.
