BOXING: McGuigan's son scoops title
Barry McGuigan's son Shane won the Ulster senior welterweight title last night but his win was not met with universal approval.

Thirty years after Barry won his senior title at his first attempt, it was anticipated that a win for his son would have been cheered from the rafters at Belfast`s Andersonstown Leisure Centre.
But his 26 to 13 points win was booed as the crowd felt that McGuigan`s opponent Cathal McCauley had won the fight.
Legendary Boxing Master of Ceremonies Harry McGavock agreed and left the hall immediately after the fight in protest at the decision.

i've read in a lot of places that barry really didn't want any of his son's boxing but i guess its in there genes
