McGregor has repeatedly shown that he likes to throw out lots of barbs at his opponent to try and break them.... but when he is on the receiving end of them himself he gets visibly angry, and resorts to just shouting over the other person.

Going forward, he can harp on about the money etc, but that shit only really carries true weight when you are the king and always delivering. Now that he has been so convincingly beaten, perhaps he will be a little more gracious and wary of running his mouth too much.

Literally everything he said to Nate came back to bite him in the ass. Almost everything he said he would do was done to him. He played his cards badly with the midgets slur, something that has been turned on him. Should he get beaten by said midgets, his fire is well and truly out.

Do you think at his next pre fight conference he will be a little more muted?

Nope. He will still trash the 145ers but anything he says to a decent 155er + will be thrown back at him

He'll be the same.

It sells PPV tickets and makes him popular.

I love Edgar's accent so I'm ready for this trash talking bullshit McDucker better shut the fuck up.

absolutely , the jig is up , if he comes back humble i'll be a fan

No, I don't think he will, nor do I think he should.

It's what sets him apart from others - his gift of gab.

He just can't do it to a Diaz brother, because as Nate put it so succinctly, he doesn't 'give a fuck' about any of that. lol

But 95% of the fighters out there DO get rattled with his shtick, so he will continue waging that mental warfare, and giving us fans a chuckle or two along the way.

I think Nate got in his head when Conor tried to use his Mystic Mac gimmick on him, it clearly didn't work and Nate actually responded with something semi insightful, that's the moment I realized that none of Conor's head game was going to affect Nate.

On to what you said, I agree that it's plausible we might see a more subdued Conor promoting his next fight, but I think that lasts until/if he gets another impressive win under his belt. Hyping fights and acting brash sells fights no doubt, but it sure looks retarded when you lose.

I guess my point is, when he was on top people had a little ammo to use against him, now fighters can poke fun more at where he has been and could be beaten badly again.

He wont like that one bit.

This. Every other response is wasted energy. He's the most popular fighter in the world...by far. Nothing has changed other than he's been given a chance to gain more fans by being humble...which he's been since the second he lost.

He should do something really original and unique, like he is.

He should talk about how his opponents don't deserve to fight him, how much of a privilege it is, he should bring up his opponents kids, and praise himself to the skies, while mentioning his clothes and money; this is important: he needs to connect his self worth to his material gains and make sure everybody knows it.

he has no choice but to be humble

Frankie is a smart & articulated man.
A press conference between those two would be great.
Frankie could fire back a Conor big time.
Not like Nate, or Aldo.

Mcgregor still has the winning formula. His words will carry a little less weight with this loss, but if he picks the right angle he can still keep getting the numbers and probably still get under the skin of opponents. Diaz bros are a different kind of animal (not gazelle)

Conor turns up at the press conference and tells us he dug himself out of the Las Vegas desert ground where he was buried that night on the 5th of March 2016.

Claims that he is now immortal and no one will stop him until he decides to walk away from the sport.

Chael trash talked a lot of people but showed respect for some opponents, i.e. Stann.

I think Connor will take a break from trash talking against Edgar.

Conor has a very difficult road ahead, make no mistake about it. It only gets harder from here.

If he defends against Frankie he will lose, if he goes up to 155 for that RDA fight, he will lose. I'm certain that more people feel this way now but are afraid of being wrong. I'm not against Conor but I can see his opening being exploited by a veteran like Frankie and a More cautious Aldo in a rematch.

Going up and down in weight will also have it's drawbacks, Frankie is used to fighting bigger guys with more power, I see him able to handle that dangerous first round.

I will even go as far as to say that he'd lose a rematch to Holloway.

I can totally imagine conor going off on frankies new corner calling them terrorists and calling frankie a midget and getting under frankies skin. Its going to be hilarious.
