It blows my mind how UFC 200 is right around the corner already. It seems like their last fight just happened, mostly because it did.

Anyways, McGregors chin definitely cracked first in their last fight and you have to imagine he's not fully recovered. It was stupid for them to even consider doing it at 200. The extra month or two will make a difference in my opinion, but its still not ideal.

I think they should have had Conor abandon FW, and then fight a can or two to tune up and then set up the rematch. I have a hard time thinking that sharper, better shape Diaz doesn't find his chin here but you never know.

should have fought Edgar in first place. Didnt Dana say his next fight is defeniding the FW title at 200 press conference ?

Woah look guys, an original thread! Never heard this before..

He essentially snaked it hard, either way.

1.) He deliberately went against the grain and refused to show up to media events, knowing he would get pulled, so he would get more time to train.

2.) He genuinely wanted time to train, in fear that his skillset would not be enough, therefore refused the media obligations and has lucked out by having an additional few months of prep.

Don't know if I agree on most of it(his confidence may be but he was smart enough to escape before the chin had no excuse) but for sure he has done the right thing by gaining time. The first fight was a mismatch in that Diaz took his(McGregors) best but McGregor didn't return the favour.

Was in a pub telling an Irish bloke this is the worst match up for conner. By the same token anyone that thinks giving any ellete athlete this amount of time to change and believing they will not needs a their head read.

I think everyone needs to man up and enjoy the fight and the drama. Give both men there due....

Did you say that about all the other contenders at FW too, or is it just Conor who has to fight everyone in the division before he gets a title shot?

I don't remember so many complaints about Lamas, KZ, or any other contender who didn't have to go through Mendes or Edgar, but I guess that's just how it is, huh?

he will pull big PPV numbers either way so it's no big deal for him or Nate.
plus Conor will lose to Nate whether at 200 or 202.

yes any extra time on mat will help him but he still isn't at level Nate is on ground

Yup, he can delay his FW title fight even longer.....Finnancially wise i kind of doubt it, having all the biggest names in one card will always add to the PPV buys.

Not exactly on topic but Nate just posted this on Instagram & Twitter

Does anyone know what Diaz is talking about when he sayz "get that showmoney." Is he getting paid to show up at UFC 200?

You're the champ + healthy = defend your damn belt after losing fight at 170

Lamas had tough road to title shot. KZ had 3 impressive wins and was scheduled to fight Lamas for n1 contender, but Pettis was injured so he got title shot. idk where Mendes and Edgar were at that time in the division

They fought the first week of March, so four months will have blown by. I'm scratching my head trying to figure out how you consider four months 'just happened' ?

Champions who chose to moonlight in another division don't get gimmie fights. He would have to defend the belt or fight a ranked opponent.

Definitely benefit from an extra two months to improve his game and cardio - that much cannot be denied.

Coming off a loss, he could get whatever fight he wanted. I'd imagine he would have fought someone that was at least a stylistic gift.

I disagree.

He's a champion who is holding up the belt in his division. He was white listed a super-fight in the division above. There is no way on earth they would just throw him a top 15 fighter next.
