Honestly how many top LWs McGregor would beat?

Dos Anjos
Cerone
Alvarez
Pettis
Khabib
Melendez

You can also throw Bellator LWs in the mix

Will Brooks
Henderson
Thompson
Chandler

I see him losing against all of them, he may get 1 or 2 victory against, but he could also lose against guys like Guida.

McGregor clearly isn't top 10 material at LW.

Let's be real now, 155 is full of stylistic bad match ups for Conor.

Most of them are grapplers who would not be a afraid of an ugly fight.

In the UFC i could see him winning against Cerrone, and maybe Pettis. But the rest of this list would pound on him untill Mcgregor gives up.

None of them.

It's salads and saunas from here on out for Conor.

He beats Cerrone and Melendez. All the others probably beat him, not too sure on Alvarez. Oh and I'm only talking about UFC lightweights.

Yes Alvarez is the one I would have doubts on since he has been performing average and is prone to get caught .

Alvarez is actually smaller than McGregor, so I'd put money on Conor. Conor will lose to every other LW out there though.

before this fight, he would have beaten all, now he would lose to them all - sherdog knows

I would really need to see him against Frankie to determine either way on any of those guys now. He needs to learn from this fight and I'd like to think he will.

Cerrone is the one I think he'd have the best shot against. Pettis despite the losses is still without a tko defeat and withstood RDA for five whole rounds which says a lot about his heart, while Conor's panic takedown + tap combo really made me question how he will do under grave danger.

You people cant reference last night s fight to what Conor can do at 155.I believe thats his natural weight class and hed be somewhere in the top 5 and have a shot at title.

Ok lets squelch this right now. Nate is not and has never been a top lw.

The only reason dana put him at #5 was to legitimize conor handpicking him on 10 days notice.

Cerrone grapples him like he did oliveira
Connor beats
Thompson and that's it

He would have a puncher's chance against anyone I guess, but I would say he should be the underdog in all those fights.

RDA and Khabib are probably his worst possible matchups.

This. Second this opinion fully.

Khabib beats him for sure.

Conor can probably get into RDA and Pettis' heads.

Melendes and Cowboy are fair game. Alvarez can pull off a boring win.

Dos Anjos - murked, def on ground and probably on feet

Cerone - conor takes this, cerrone is just terrible about handling early pressure

Alvarez - probably wrestlefucks him

Pettis - hard to call. depends on pettis' mental state, and how much of the old pettis from pre-RDA is still left. maybe a pick em fight, or comes down to who lands the first big shot.

Khabib - total wrestlefuck all day long

Melendez - might favor conor due to speed advantage. but if gil gets the TD (which he could) it's game over quickly the other way.

at LW where conor's power is not as effective, it's almost the opposite of the anderson situation, where you had to deal with a sniper for 5 rounds and each round starts standing - with conor he won't be able to finish as easily anymore, and he has to manage to stay off the ground for 5 straight rounds. IMO he's only going to have big success at FW, he's going to have to just deal with the weight cut.

my $0.02.

I think Alvarez is the weakest link since he get tagged a lot.

I think that Will Brooks, Chandler and Henderson all outclass him too, with their far superior wrestling and toughness.

You think that win pushed diaz to #5 after being unranked?

Gotcha.
if johnson is ranked in the top 5 himself beforehand? absolutely, that's the way the rankings always work.

don't downplay that win, johnson was / is a contender and diaz looked good beating him.
