Tin foil hate here...

Maybe an agreement was made for a St.Pierre return for a big $ fight. UFC and Mcgregors brilliant idea to get him out of the Diaz fight last minute. Give him a few months to prepare for a St.Pierre return.

If Conor were to lose to Nate a second time, that would really drop his stock.

A Conor return after his"retirement" as well as a St.Pierre return would gather some buzz and would be perfect for there first NYC appearance.

Whether you wanted to see them fight or not, there 2 huge names promote.

Conor will never fight GSP...

did you watch mcgregor vs 2 week mendes?

Conor already fucked that fight up. With lots of help from Nate.

It's not about losing to Mcgregor, he wants the big fights and big pay checks.

St. Pierre would man handle him imo. Only takes 1 shot though.

Lol "one shot".....Hendricks, condit, Alves, Kos, Penn, Diaz all couldn't KO GSP but you think Conor can? Lol. Joke. Conor has zero power compared to other WWs.

Serra was a massive underdog... Odds were +700 / -1100

Just about everyone gets "caught" or hit by a "lucky" punch @ some point.

It's mma.

i just dont see how anyone would even take that fight seriously.

I would jizz.

I love the way you think TS. This is exactly what they are doing.

This is 100% accurate. Only a few of us see through the bs. Its hilarious how obvious this is and people cant see it.

Conor vs GSP and Nate vs Lawler are the dumbest fucking things I've been hearing lately on Sherdog.

I agree, its so obvious this is what they are doing. I thought I was the only one that could see through their bs, but I'm happy to see I'm not alone.

It just seems a bit odd that both their names are all up in the headlines at the same time. It would be a bomshell fight, one that GSP would take in a heartbeat, and a true blockbuster fight that would get both fighters the money they want.

Here's what I think: GSP wants to come back, not to make a title run, no he wants the biggest fights, fight the biggest stars he says. He wants super fights with ton loads of cash involved.

UFC wants that too. Their biggest star atm is Conor, sure it doesn't have to be him, there are other options, but GSP vs Conor could potentially be the biggest fight in UFC history. But Conor's a bit small for GSP, but hey, what if "weight classes don't matter" what if they had a star who'd fight anyone at any weight class?

Still though, we need to make that a bit credible we need Conor to move up in weight as pre-fight so we can build this fight and sell it. Sure, unprepared Nate Diaz would work, let's do that. On its own it's a huge fight. Brilliant, win win for UFC.

Conor is excited, he just needs to KO Diaz, he believes he can do it. It's a big gamble but oh the reward of fighting GSP in his come back fight. Conor is game! To the media, it was all his idea. After all, if things don't pan out, UFC don't want the public to know anything about their plans. They'd rather hold their cards tight and let thing evolve and just make the best of any development. That's how they have always run their business.

Oh gosh, Conor lost. But, he's not giving up, he just needs one more chance. UFC thinks OK let's try it again. For UFC, worst come to worst Conor defending his title is still big and any opponent for GSP is also big anyway. Win or lose, UFC still wins.

But then something is not going so well with getting GSP to do that come back fight. Something about sponsors, things are getting tougher, uncertain. Even if Conor wins his rematch with Diaz, they need him to go defend his title before he can fight GSP as that might be some time away after all. They tell Conor, listen, even if you win against Diaz now you have to do a title defense next, and btw, if you lose your title defense we probably won't give you GSP.

Now Conor not only has to win his fight with Diaz he also has to defend his title against Frankie or Aldo, before GSP can happen. Now that Diaz fight just doesn't seem so attractive. Conor wants to cash in on it NOW. He tells UFC, pay up! But UFC is like no way... The rest is history.

What does GSP smell like? Petunias?

A Clonerwork Orange.

Personally I would rather see Conor fight Nate.

He SHOULD be fighting at FW to defend the belt.

What has he done to earn a fight against someone like GSP?

Uhm, I'm not sure how to put this.
GSP would murder McGregor, without a shade of doubt. I mean, we are talking about actual murder, head ripped off.
I can't believe that UFC would risk destroying the image of their #1 p4p ticket and pvp seller.

Heeeeelllllllllllllllll no. Conor has done nothing to warrant a fight against the greatest welterweight of all time. Lol, it would be a bloodbath

If Conor has a win at 170, it's suddenly a credible fight and would sell millions of PPVs. Follow the money.
