I rewatched the fight and didnt realise at the time how many shots Mcgregor landed that where just off. If one had landed i believe he would have at least rocked Diaz. I think Mcgregor must not have been training properly and it was a fight he had just to show up and win. His arrogance got the better of him. If Mcgregor sorts the cardio issue id like to see them fight again. I think it could be a really close fight wouldnt rule Diaz out though.
 
Because throwing power shots and getting tagged doesn't hurt a person's cardio.

Surely, McGregor just needs to run more.

Yup if he had 3 1/2 more good rounds in him.. Nothing like gassing in 1 1/2 rounds of a 5 round fight that you had a full camp for.

How many times have you seen a fighter gas out from throwing punches?

His cardio was obviously seriously lacking he was eating steaks and not much else before this fight.

No one in the world has the cardio to throw, whiff and miss that many shots and do it for 5 rounds.

It was cardio management like Conor said, not cardio. He gassed himself out trying to KO Nate and missing instead of picking his shots. He wasn't very accurate in that fight. Conor was in good enough shape to go 4-5 rounds in there, but the way he fought made him gas early.

The Diaz brothers have possibly the best cardio in the sport but look at how they throw punches. They throw a lot of punches, but they put about 50% in every punch except once in a while they throw a 100% one.

Conor threw a lot of punches, AND he was throwing them at 100% power.

Anyone gasses throwing like that. Look at Anthony Johnson.
 
Ya I'm sure a lot of fighters who gas could have won if they didn't gas like mendes or rumble against Vitor or silvaagainst brown but the bottom line is they ddidn't properly train which led them to gas and lose that's mma
 
All I remember is him rolling around looking for some air and trying to go all ''heavy breathing'' and suck the air out of MGM

The bottom line is the best version of Conor lost big time to the worst version of Nate.

Anthony Johnson is not a good comparion much bigger i can see how heavyweights would gas not 170 pounder.

I dont believe Mcgregor was throwing punches any different the previous fights.
