Taking multiple fights in a different division when you're champion in another is bad for the UFC. I understand from a marketing standpoint that the Diaz rematch will probably generate a ton of money, but if he loses again, how much of a draw will Conor be when he finally decides to go back to FW?

I think the UFC expects him to lose both of those fights. If you don't think he can win either fight, having him fight Diaz first is how the UFC makes the most money before the cow stops producing milk.
