Brilliant idea.
That's a really strong main event for a card that probably won't be so strong, based on previous Europe cards. I doubt Barao vs. McDonald would pull many ppvs if it's supposed to carry a PPV-card.

They've gotta put it somewhere, plus its an interim Bantamweight title fight between two guys who arent that well known despite the fact they are 2 of the best up an coming fighters in any weight class. I think it makes perfect sense.

Yep. That is the perfect place to put this fight. That might be the dictate for Fox cards moving forward... is to put a title fight to headline the card. Not the biggest title fights, but a title fight nonetheless.
Still have to see which card the women's title fight will headline.

it COULD also headline UFC 157, if they stack the rest of the card I think it could sell....maybe...
But an interim belt at 135lbs if perfect for a FOX event.

I agree. But not many ppl outside of the hardcore fans know who these guys are, theyd have to have a pretty stacked undercard to pull off strong numbers on the PPV.

Looking at the calendar so far it makes sense that it would be Fuel 7 main event, cant see it as UFC 157 main over Hendo Machida (especially as Rousey may be on that card). Cant see it as a main event on Fox either, suppose it could be an FX card in Brazil? Us UK fans deserve a title fight surely!

MAYBE an FX card. But you can't put a title fight on Fuel, not only is it bad marketing but its almost disrespectful to Barao and Mcdonald because not only would they not get any exposure but it would hurt their sponsor money as well.
If you want people to know who your champs are you aren't gonna put em on Fuel.

This is such a good fight. Both guys have looked unstoppable; Renan Barao and Michael Mcdonald remind me of Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos when they both were still contenders. I am picking Renan to edge him out on the feet but it's a close one.

Maybe they want to put a signifigant fight like this on Fuel so more ppl will buy the channel, or at least demand to their television providers that they begin to offer it.
