Mazzone: Throwing

Makes sense with what he says about velocity. I also thought the doctor ESPN had on one of the panels talking about kids throwing too much before the ligament fully develops had a good point too. Really crazy that there are more TJ injuries in the first 12 weeks of this season than all of last year. Maybe the surgery is getting better so more players are opting to do it when they would have been hesitant a couple years ago. Mazzone definitely knows his stuff though.
 
Throwing off flat ground is way safer than on a mound. Get the youth to pitch less, and field ground balls at shortstop.

This could be an issue due to specialization at a really early age.
