This was going to be the biggest fight ever (sorry, Floyd) and UFC’s big opportunity to host their own Rumble in the Jungle in the iconic city of Moscow. Not having to deal with the idiots at Showtime or the pesky Nevada State Athletic Commission.
In fact, the Putin Athletic Commission, where gravity fluctuates and USADA personnel might get lost in the big city, would have made things a whole lot easier.

Seeing as Putin is huge fanboy and would be willing to assist the UFC in order to promote Russia by way of hosting a huge event, this will be a huge missed opportunity.
President Trump, a fanboy himself, has also told Dana he was willing to promote the UFC by bringing fighters to the White House this year, which would have been obviously used to promote the biggest fight ever, which would way bigger than ‘the biggest fight of all time’ from last year.

It was the perfect storm as the political significance of such a non-political event would have catapulted this september 15 event to heights we would never ever have imagined.

Dana would have made the biggest palatable fights to make an event that would be watched by many millions more than last year. Think Mcgregor vs Khabib, Brock vs Ngannou, JJ vs Shevchenko and my favourite fighters like Gokhan Saki and Zabit Magomedsharipov showcasing their talent.
There is just no way now that Conor McGregor will be allowed to go to the White House on international fight week or that he will be allowed to fight in september and this whole event is banking on him to be the main draw.

The whole Burger King deal was going to be a sequence of commercials with the first one being in a jet and the last one obviously ending in Moscow, where Khabib would utter the catchphrase “this is a number one burger” to promote this fight aswell, but i guess all these plans will change now aswell.

All i know, is that a Michael Chiesa will see a big payday and Mcgregor will be sued by many more and that he will be in a whole lot of legal trouble th coming months.

A shame really, but in a way this will promote Mayhem in Moscow in 2019 to another level.

We will just have to wait another year for the legendary From Russia with Gloves event.

I hope somebody with knowledge about legal issues can chime in for a timeframe.

Seeing as an ex-con can visit the White House and Trump not giving a fuck about negative publicity, i think the whole plan will proceed as normal.

McGregor will just have to wear a pink badge instead of the regular green badge.
