I have no fucking clue who Erin Blanchfield is, but my prediction (kinda going out on a limb here) is if Barber swing at air, she's gonna lose.

Eh, the judging was certainly questionable, but ultimately it’s on Maverick for letting it get that close. Nobody was really expecting a Barber win, Maverick should have blown her away. Maverick even talks about herself like she’s the best thing since sliced bread, especially after winning the Phoenix Series tournament in Invicta, but here she couldn’t even do enough against Barber to leave no doubt in the judges minds.
 
If Blanchfield can get this done she is gonna shoot up the rankings.

Hopefully it works out for her. She's a good hardworking great prospect and no prima Donna attitude. That gets my vote.

Took a while but here we are! Ya I thought this was a brand new thread. This matchup looks even more interesting now than 4 years ago. Both have racked up some solid experience and shown improvement. May the best lady win. I'm curious to see how both look, it feels like it's been a while since we've seen either one of them in action. I'm sure Blanchfield learned a ton from the Fiorot fight.

Interesting to see Barbers strategy, I don’t see her being able to hang with Erin on the feet and rolling with her might not be smart either.
 
Hopefully blanchfield sends that bloody woman to hospital. Barber is about the most irritating entitled person who ever stepped into the octagon.

There's the whole fake black belt lie for a starters .

She lost to modafferi and , frankly also lost to miranda maverick the judges were blind or incompetent or simply bought.
 
Barber will probably win this. The best thing Erin knows how to do is clench hugging, which she is apparently good at. Surely, they have figured her out by now.

Erin's striking is not good at all. She basically ran face first into 1-2's from Manon all night. Yes Manon is a much better striker than Maycee but point is she didn't even need to be vs Blanchfield.

Grappling is another story. Blanchfield is legit on the mat. Outside Dern and Amorim she's arguably the WMMA fighter with the best offensive bjj game. Barber better keep it standing if she wants to win.

I remembered it. I've actully been anticiapting this fight since the first one got cancelled. I'm really happy that were finally getting it

I think you are overstating that a bit. Blachfield beat the snot out Jessica Andrade when they stoof and traded. Erin was landed flush bombs on Andrade so she isn't absloutely terrible just outmatched by elite strikers

Love Erin, but it's Bellator that has the phenom and she's young too. If she moves to the UFC all these girls will be fighting for second best imo.

Andrade is a terrible example since we know now that she's completely washed at this stage, but I get your point. Luckily for Erin she has a good chin because her striking needs work foshow.

Andrade's reflexes and athleticism aren't there anymore and haven't been for awhile. She still has pop IF she lands clean, but her ability to do that has been deteriorating for a few years.

Blanchfield isn't TERRIBLE striking, she's just not good. Eats too many of the same combos over and over and isn’t crafty on her entries to try to get the clinch and then takedown. Luckily for her she's tough as hell so often can just walk through getting tagged on her way in. Not vs someone as big and strong as Manon, but against most girls.

Her grappling is elite though. I get why she's favored here, although the line has gotten too wide imo. Maycee is live, even if I do slightly favor Erin.

At that point Dakota Ditcheva was 2-0 and I had never even heard of her.


I do agree that she's the future of WMMA. A real wrecking machine.
