I never got the Barber hype. I know it's easy to say in retrospect, but she never looked like a contender to me. She was always a sloppy brawler with low fight IQ.

Undefeated, Finishing people, and was super young

Erin has bad striking and she's very hittable. She brawls too much. She didn't impress at all in her last fight against Alpar. Had money on her in that fight, but now that she's fighting up the rankings, I doubt I'll bet on her much more.

Barber isn't amazing herself, but she hits a lot harder. Once she's had enough of trying to be skillful and starts brawling herself, she's going to hurt Erin in this fight.

Unfortunately, no. There have been younger champs in Bellator.
Barber would be a good fit for Bellator, though. UFC does seem to have lost interest in building her up. Bellator could line up can after can for her to crush. Seriously, her management should be looking into this.

Don't miss this one fellas.

It's a breath of fresh air to watch people with actual talent

Gotta back Blanch here I feel.

This should be fun.

I think the UFC is more thinking to give a big boost-up for Blanchfield IF she can win this fight.

I like Erin Blanchfield a lot, she's only 22, just 1 UFC fight and Barber has 6 UFC fights.

IF Blanchfield can win, it's a very big W for her.
I think UFC now realizes that Barber isn't all that great. She lost 2 in a row to Modafferi and Grasso and in REALITY she also lost a decision to Miranda Maverick (ignore what the judges adjudicated -- they got it wrong).

So, *in effect* Barber as 3 losses in a row and I think the UFC is hoping Blanchfield wins.
Even if she doesn't it's great experience for her, and at only 22, Blanchfield has an awful lot of upside given a bit more time.

Barber is nothing but a brawler. Unfortunately the UFC has cottoned on to that.
The end could be near for her as a prospect.
