Pretty much this. Success in the misc comes from being either a mimetic mouthpiece (a la /pol), a psychopath, or an extremely dedicated gimmick.

Here you can say something kind or sensible once in a while and a few days later someone might like it or quote you and render your existence worthwhile.

Yeah the misc is alot like the OT where it's super toxic but in the OT guys were mostly joking around but in the misc they're mostly serious in their toxicity.

Well, it used to be a lot better than what it is now. There used to be a fraternal spirit to all of it sort of like the mayberry, but with even more lulz. Then you had this whole aesthetics bodybuilding movement that was born out of the misc by posters like Zyzz and Chestbrah and these guys took it to the next level. Then Zyzz died and the forum got flooded by 4chan dropouts, forever alone losers and the remaining actual miscers turned toxic as fuck.

I've been by there a handful of times. There are definitely some laughs to be had but it also kinda feels like you're in the ghetto at the same time. Haven't been there in a long time.

These days I just wait until Forum Sentinel brings the misc over here.
