Maybe the UFC should take a page from SF's book.

By including kickboxing bouts like Strikeforce did in the early days, if they can sign some top talent, this could really bolster weak cards.

Just add in a sub division of kickboxers, keep more or less to the existing weight classes that the UFC uses.

This way we can cater to those fans who just want to see stand up as well as having legit MMA as well.

Disclaimer: I happened upon this idea after a few whiskeys.

Nah leave the kickboxing to the kickboxing orgs.

I know what the UFC is showing, and that's what I tune in to watch.

Would kickboxing be legal/sanctioned in an Octagon?

That would be an absolute disaster.

They might as well come out and say: "well, yeah, we admit people wanna see people getting punched - fighting on the ground kinda sucks".

Strikeforce used the same cage for MMA/kickboxing, so I think wouldn't be too much of a problem.

Of course this could vary on a state by state basis.

Nah, I think they should keep the rules consistent. I think it would be cool if they had live kickboxing and grappling tournaments on fightpass.
