Mike took this fight too soon after that war with Ponz. He should break & develop his skills instead

Platinum lives in Florida, home to some of the best boxers in the world. Take advantage.

There's a sweet irony in the fact that ultimately an unranked opponent killed & buried Platinum Nation

I love a good two piece.

We are one nation now. Have some self respect and stop making these excuse threads.

Nice counter.

Platinum looked stiff in there. Max had a great gameplan and took Perry out of his element early.

What happened to the "Perry's not a pussy like these guys sitting around waiting, he just bangs bro!" narrative?

Now it's "he probably took the fight too soon after the Ponzi fight"? When do we finally land on "he's just not that good" and let him be a prelim chuckle?

Griffin's three punch combo's had Perry's head rattling like a run away pez dispenser.

I have nothing against Perry personally, but I do love when the UFC attempts to make a showcase fight for someone they're trying to build and it blows up in their face*. They clearly made this fight with the intention of having Mike rebound with a highlight reel KO (Max had gone 1-2 in the UFC and is someone willing to stand and trade).

The all time example of this was Liddell-Jardine, when they went so far as to name the event "Knockout."

Hes still young and no one has that much potential as he does since Erik Silva

Plat had 9 fights in 2 years time for a break. Credit to max nice performance. Plat still almost finished him in the third after looking one dimensional. Plat got mount and 2 takedowns and had improved cardio and fitness. Idk wtf happened to mixing it up footwork setting up combos the jab LOL but hey - braco always said to be positive and look at the bright side

Looking at your avatar, did you lose a bet? I was happy you get to use one of my platbum shoops as your walk of shame

UFC 76 - Knockout

Every fight went to a decision :D

Damn that left was brutal. Perry still has a chin after those wars but he needs a good 6+ months off to let himself recover.

He also needs to reassess his career. Needs to join a new gym and stop letting his lady coach him.

I’m starting to see regression in Perry’s striking which is a sad thing to see for such a young guy.

I hope he does what’s right for his career. Love or hate him, the UFC always can use more fighters like Perry. WAR!
