“It’s just UFC with all this USADA, (the policing of) the weight cuts, you’ve got to be a certain weight when you’re checking in and blah blah blah — all of that medical stuff, that’s what I mean. If they start adding more medical stuff I probably would (move up),” he said.

“Every time I check my weight they’re in disbelief, but I’m like, ‘I’ve never missed weight in my life.’ I don’t know why they’re giving me a hard time, but medically if they’re the rules, then medically I probably won’t be able to make it because of their rules with the (weight) cuts.

“155 might come sooner rather than later, so we’ll see what happens.”

“Blessed” claimed that it is inevitable that he will move up to lightweight in the future.

“I’m a big boy for featherweight, so 155 is going to happen. Sooner or later, we don’t now when, we’re just waiting. But when the time comes, it comes.”

most likely him and everyone else. like OneFC did. and CSAC is trying to do.

props to him for seeing the writing on the wall.

Love to see him fight Tony

Tony may be fighting 170 though.

LET'S GO MAX!!

Fight Edgar, fight Ortega then move on up is what I'd say. Don't really see anyone else challenging him.

I think a lot of us have suspected this for a while. He also beat up most of the division before he even got the title so if he beats Frankie there isn't much left for the guy at FW

Personally I'm really excited about this since I've always wanted to lock Tony Ferguson and Max Holloway in a cage together for 25 minutes and see who comes out alive

Jose Aldo will always be the FW GOAT!

War Max tho! I’m a fan

So what does Max walk around at? 160-165 is probably my guess. Add the fact that he doesn't carry much extra body fat so his weight cut is tougher then someone who could just cut fat. He probably cuts 10 pounds of water, which is a considerable amount.

He probably has put on 5-10 pounds of lean mass just from training all these years. He was super young when he got to the UFC.

he might have to move up before Ortega is the thing, its not a choice its the way the rules are going with weight cuts. be a forced move to 155

Everyone cuts alot of weight. Cub recently said he cuts from 175 and he doesn't even look that big. We definitly need to find a solution to weight cutting. Just fight at your natural weight...

Would love to see him fight at 155

I think he would be a top 5 easy

Good. The more we hear about guys moving up the better, it means less weight cutting.

Also Tony vs Max?

He really doesn' need to fight anyone else after Edgar except maybe Ortega

If I'm an Ortega fan, I'm praying that Max leaves FW after he fights Frankie. Because if he sticks around to fight Ortega, beats him, then leaves, it hurts Ortega's legacy if he then goes on to fight for (and win) the vacant belt that Max left behind.

If, on the other hand, Max beats Frankie, leaves, then Ortega and someone else (Chad? Frankie AGAIN?) fight for the vacant belt, it just looks like it's a shame Max and Ortega never fought but not as illegitimate as if Ortega lost to Max and then immediately got another TS and won it against someone else.
