I thought this dude was like 40 years old and not only because he has been in the game for a while but because of his look, then I looked up and for my surprise he is just 31 years old, that's crazy

He has been looking so old this fight week, I don't know what it is but now I'm very curious to see tonight how he looks when it comes to fighting, hopefuly his old look doesn't translate to a washed up fighter

I hope he moves up to 155 one day tho, he would look so much healthy and stronger, he can do well at 155 if he does it the right way

That could be a reason
But then you can see so many other fighters that have absorbed a lot of damage as well and some of them even look younger than what they are
 
he's not the same guy any more.... interested to see what he has left tonight

He didn't take enough time to bulk up and move up the right way.
He looked cleaely smaller than Poirier, he still ate all Poirier got tho, there are not many fighters that can do that, ask Gaethje, Conor, Chandler, etc
 
I honestly don't get why his personality is so popular.. he's pretty generic to me.. o guess people relate to that..

Volk is less popular but way more engaging in my opinion.. I guess I'm not a mainstream kinda guy..

He didn't put in weight for that fight, just cut 10 pounds less, and not many LWs have gone the distance with Dustin, I think he would do great at LW if he actually commited to it and put on some weight.

Theres nothing for him at FW and he shouldn't be cutting that weight at his age.

I find Arnold Allen to be one of the more interesting guys to listen to, his interviews, sense of humor, wit and candidness is great, Volk is similar in this regard to me.

I don't think people love Max for his personality, his personality is fine, bit dull like you said but he's an all time great action fighter and I think so many of us watched him grow up in the UFC, that 10 fight win streak to the title was really fun to watch from Holloway.

He didn't even bulk up for that fight, he was chubby and still was working Dustin in the later rounds despite the massive damage he sustained early, I thought he looked great considering he fought one of the best LW's of all time with basically no prep for the weight class.

He will be very good at LW, but his reach disadvantages will always screw him over. It's hard to be an MMA boxer when you don't have a decent reach, it means you always have to put yourself in danger to land unless your head movement and defense is top notch, that's why Max has taken so many blows even in his dominant performances.

I doubt he'll develop a potent outside striking game, or a grappling heavy style so he'll last as long as he can keep taking big shots in boxing exchanges.

Nate Diaz is popular and he can barely tie 2 words together in a sentence.
I think the reason why Max is popular is beyond just his personality though.
