Matt Schnell has just laid down his gloves in retirement following his anaconda choke loss to Cody Durden.

Despite his shortcomings, he had a career that he can be proud of. He always came to bang and his fight with Su Mudaerji is HOF material.

He will be back by the end of the year but good retirement. Hope he stays retired, guy has no chin and can't take any damage.

Flyweight just lost two of their most storied fighters in one weekend. Times are changing.

Between Schnell and Mighty Mouse they have:

  • 11 UFC Title Defenses
  • 14 UFC Title Fights
  • ONE BW Belt
  • 10 MTV appearances in "Caged"
Great stuff.

he looked real patient in this fight, copped a few good hits too. didn't think he'd retire but maybe he'd promised himself beforehand

Don't worry he'll unretire in a few months.

“Man, I’m not sure what was worse, the punch or you hitting your head on the canvas, man,” Tognoni said, patting Schnell on the chest. “You’ll see on the film.”

I am very happy that he has retired. We only want winners here.
