and he was still competitive and fighting against guys in their prime.. unbelievable.

The oldest active fighter in UFC history has to be Couture at 47 for the Machida fight.

The oldest to ever compete in the UFC is Ron Van Clief at 52, though he only had one fight so it's kind of weird to call him active, not exactly active before the fight as he never competed and not exactly active after the fight as he retired entirely from MMA.
