I'm a pretty big merit guy, and I'll always check divisions for who is highest up vs what kind of streaks they have vs which opponents, and I know fly is really hurting for guys to emerge with some momentum, but man, I just don't see it for Kape. Even without looking at the rankings, I feel like I could and would find a way around giving Kape a title shot. Hell, call up Mokaev, call up Askarov, check with Pantoja if he wants to fight Merab, whatever. If Kape is the guy right now? Then what the fuck is that division even doing?

Hm? The only guy Kape has lost to in a long time isn't in the UFC anymore. Why is that so crazy he would get a title shot?

Seriously. They gave the title fight to the little Eggman after a win over Matt Schnell and a couple of bums. Then Asakura on his debut. I think they just don't like Kape at all.

I just looked at the Fly weight rankings... I was about to say has he beaten anyone ranked, but they rank anyone in that division.
Holy bejusus 125lb is a wasteland.

It's nowhere near as bad as the women's 125 division.

Yeah, I mentioned the guy who beat him. There's not really a great reason as far as we know as to why he isn't in the UFC anymore. I also mentioned another guy who left the UFC who last beat Pantoja. Kape is winning, but hasn't beat anyone. Ode Osbourne isn't good, Zhumagulov failed out of the UFC on a 1-6 run. Dvorak managed to get top 10 by beating 3 people off a giant streak in the independents, but was on his downfall when Kape fought him and also failed out the UFC. Felipe dos Santos was a fill-in making his debut, and will likely be cut if he loses his next fight. Bruno da Silva managed to put a lot of finishes together to get a run into the rankings, but never beat a person of note himself. Almabayev might be his first quality win, but it was done well before Almabayev did anything of worth in the division to put himself into title range.

In every other division in the UFC, it has almost become an unfortunate standard that top rank guys sit at the top rank and only fight each other, and those few rebound wins were enough to get them a shot again, while the contenders below get screwed over. Kape isn't even at the level of the guys who get screwed over in those other divisions. Any other weight, I'd have expected Royval to get the shot again after beating the next streaking guy, and the #1 multi time former champ of the division.

It's nowhere near as bad as the women's 125 division.
Women's 125 has had contenders fighting each other waiting for years for their shots. There is a backlog of fighters who should be fighting for the title.

He was #12 (head-scratchingly) when he got his first ranked win over Dvorak at #9.
Dos Santos was a fill-in, so no rank.
Lost to #6 Mokaev.
Beat #12 Silva
Just beat #8 Almabayev

Only if pantoja beats kkf should he get a shot. If kkf wins it should go to royval or even Moreno, who have both beaten kkf somewhat recently. To give the next shot to kape is just stretching

I'm a pretty big spite guy, so I don't want to see that bastard further rewarded after getting a 50k bonus for clawing a dude's eye. Idc how good Kape was looking up to that point

Honestly I think Pantoja deserves the double champ shot against Merab if he wants it. I know people are sick of double champ talk, but unlike all the clowns yapping about it, Pantoja actually deserves it

Fixed that for you. What a piece of shit cheating midget he is
You wish him getting shot over open hand slapping and it grazed an eye the first time in his career. For one thing wishing any fighter to be shot behind cage fighting you don’t deserve to be a fan of the sport nor commenter you’re a piece of shit. Secondly that isn’t something you would say even in a crowd or at least you shouldn’t or perhaps you think threats of gun violence and what you are implying wouldn’t get you hurt. Do better
