Masvidal's career is over if he gets stopped/KO'd/tapped by Colby

Mas is easily the most overrated fighter in the UFC. Its a joke people think he's good. He had one good year in a 20 year career. That good year consisted of a 1 in a million KO, a TKO over Till which has aged like milk and a Drs stoppage on another journeyman in Diaz. He's going to get absolutely crushed. Lets also not forget he lost to a current day bantamweight. This loss will knock him low in the top 10 and he will either price himself out of fights or he'll get fed to a prospect. His time as a 'contender' is over
He's not overrated based on his skill set. He has elite level skills. It's his mindset that holds him back. He gets lazy and unfocused or overconfident. Dude had Damian Maia in his back for 15 min and didn't get subbed. Usman couldn't take him down just hold him. He didn't get knocked out until he was 37 years old in the premier promotion and it was by the p4p #1 current champ. Most of his losses in the UFC are fights that he chose to throw away with inactivity as opposed to getting outstruck or out grappled. Is he the best ever? No. But he's not a bum either

His badass schtick and character ends if he gets a brutal beatdown in a grudge match by a former friend who is as much of a clown as Covington.
He has nowhere to go after that
Yeah you might be on to something here.

I agree, his record is actually pretty good with mainly close decision loses but he has elite skills.

Masvidal is going to get ragdolled and smothered for every round, imho. It won't look good.

He'd go down a peg,but people would still watch him fight.

Masvidal career's is full of losses and right now the UFC is all about image than skills.

He would certainly get many other fights against up and coming guys with the UFC always selling him like a god-tier boxer who could put anyone lights out at any moment.

His time as a title contender would be over...but there would almost certainly still be lucrative opportunities for him.

The Nate rematch will always be there...and I wouldn't even be surprised to see Jorge-Conor at 170, depending upon how fights shake out. If Conor shits the bed in his return fight, he probably either retires or seeks out a pay day or two before walking away...Nate and Jorge would be prime candidates.

Well it would be pretty embarassing Colby has like one finish in the last 5 years to the guy who lost to Jake Paul

He'll be Governor of Florida someday...or he'll move into action movies

His title shot chances are probably over, but not his career? Colby is the 2nd best WW in the world and arguably beat Usman in the last fight.

I'm surprised anyone is picking Masvidal in this, he is 37 and has never beaten anyone as good as Colby.

i agree and wouldn’t pick masvidal. But Colby ranking isn’t proven on merit or beating elite fighters. you can’t compare the twos resume jirge has been in with elite guys for a long time. Colby has really no good wins. Washed woodley and old Maia. Rda struggling at 170. Lawler who has a ceronne and nick Diaz in 6 years.

That’s not really a murderers row and proving yourself as number two by a mile.

And as you e said jirge is 37. With dozens of fights.
I like both guys but Colby hasn’t had to prove how good he is against anybody at the top of there game other than usman. And lost twice.

I'm not a big Masvidal fan I don't dislike him like I do Colby and really don't understand his popularity but the image sells I guess..?
If Gamebred can't put a end to Colby its gonna be real hard to sell that Miami bad man image to the tweeners. If either man catches a loss there'll be another payday in 1 or 2 more fights for the UFC to build the Bad Blood storyline.
Especially since Colby is also trying to use the King of Miami schtick.

Why would his career be over? He’s a fringe top 10 WW who got lucky and got dominated twice by the champ. He’s going to be somewhat of a star regardless even if he has never been an elite fighter.

Because if he can't back up his talk and walk the walk on this one he is just another generic fighter.
This fight is about who and what Jorge is about and is a career defining fight.
Getting iced by his Miami ex-bro would kill his character.

No it ain't lol.
He's a persona, an image and exciting... a star.
Any fighter like that, their career is never 'over' from any loss, because their fans (of which I am one) always hope for the comeback or want to see them fight and talk regardless.

His brand and talk will take a dent, but he'll still be huge.
Just like Mike Tyson, just like Conor Mcgregor. They could all lose 10 times in a row and still would be huge.

Jorge was always a boring UD fighter and there was a time where he was on a losing streak so Jorge used to it
He's never been boring.
He did used to win a lot by decision, and lose a lot by decision too,
But his style was always explosive and exciting

Mas needs to go a do a fight at BKFC, bring his career full circle.

Mas has a few routes to go. He can try for another Nate fight or new grudge match with Leon. Leon is on the same boat as these two guys if he loses twice to Usman. If the fight with Colby turns out to be spectacular. The UFC will book another rematch. Colby has nowhere to go in 170 division. He isn't getting a title shot anymore.
