It’s honestly sad to me to see that Sherdog has become a place that “white knights” for people like Colby. He constantly writes checks with his mouth that his ass isn’t willing to cash. People on online forums oftentimes forget that words can have consequence and when you make certain comments people in the real world can have emotional reactions to logical situations.

Just like bullets fired from a gun words once released from your mouth have a target, can cause irreparable damage and can never truly be taken back.

For clarity I don’t support Mas’ alleged actions only because he allegedly snuck him. Although there is nothing wrong with him squaring up with him in a steakhouse when Colby literally said he is “the king of Miami and it’s onsite with you if I see you in my city”…. This post is so idiotic and part of me wants to try and help you understand why but I also feel like it would be doing a disservice to myself

He does have a point though. If the UFC was merit based Colby could have his chance of being a top fighter without doing all this gimmick which he's clearly not cut for. He could just win fights, advance in his career and get his money.

He said he was going to be cut after the Maia fight. Dude was a 13-1 fighter, #7 ranked and fighting the #2 guy.
And still had to create a fake ass persona to guarantee his job.

I know that there's the whole "but his style was not fan friendly" and all but I would rather watch his "unfrendly" style once or twice a year than to have to listen to/about him every week.

Sorry but you can’t run your mouth the way Colby does and expect to not get punched in the teeth for it.
