You're making a huge assumption
Not really, look at Nate Diaz PPV numbers then look at Usman’s.
There is no question which fight will sell more.

When youve been around as long as Más the belt probably looses its luster. Its all about the moneyLol the funny thing is that usually, sherdoggers hate duckers but in view that sherdog's darling Masvidal is doing it, everybody is defending him with shitty arguments like "mArTy iZ not A drAw !"
Have we ever seen a title contender dodge a title fight ? It seems that the UFC belt is the graal for every UFC fighters except Masvidal.

Yes there are absolutely no other factors involved in Diaz's PPV buyrate, Usman's buyrate, or in how well a rematch would do.Not really, look at Nate Diaz PPV numbers then look at Usman’s.

lol by your standards Masvidal must be a fucking bum then since he's never even touched a fucking UFC championship.

<{cruzshake}>
UFC 241 had a HW title fight, Diaz vs Pettis, and a middleweight no. 1 contender match with two very exciting fighters. It did an estimated, whopping 450k buys. The idea that Nate is a huge draw is a myth. Nate's only good buyrates are with McNugget and the extremely highly marketed BMF fight. Nate has never sold well as an A side.
UFC 244 did well because of the insane amount of publicity it got beforehand. A lot of that publicity was due to Jorge coming off a spectacular KO and hitting Edwards backstage. It was the perfect time for a hood scrap and they marketed it well. Mas beat the absolute shit out of Diaz and a rematch would not do nearly as well.
Nate's hype train is over and he's back to being nothing more than a just bleed favorite for hardcores. Mas would be better off fighting for a title.
A rematch of a one-sided beatdown will not sell more than a title fight (assuming the rest of the card is the same either way). It's just a fact.Nate Diaz got the biggest pop from the crowd out of anyone fighting that night. The arena erupted when Nate walked out.
Nate Diaz vs McGregor fights sold more than any other fights involving McGregor other than Khabib.
Diaz sells way more than Usman, its just a fact.

Bullshit he was getting dogwalked.Bullshit, plenty of people say that Diaz could have turned things around in the last 2 rounds.
If you market it right it will sell even more than the 1st.
Create some hostility and some trash talk, maybe even a backstage brawl and it will do massive numbers. It could easily crack a mil.
Bullshit he was getting dogwalked.
It could easily do less than half a mil.
U stoopidLol it already did over 900k once, more than Usman has ever dreamed of selling.
I think Jorge has a good shot at sleeping Marty. He aint ducking the champ, he dosent like the payout offered to fight him. If they give him the same amount or more to fight Nate hes taking the Diaz fight. It's lost its luster cause in Masvidal's eyes because the belt is around Usman's waist lol. If a favourable matchup appear, I assume that Masvidal's interest for the real belt will be back.
ExactlyThe belt is only meaningful because of the PPV points. Literally thats it. Otherwise its a fucking fairy tale. These guys fight for money and thats it.
Masvidal can already get PPV points without the belt just like he did last time he fought Nate.
So the belt is literally worthless to him right now. If he’s not making more money to fight Usman than to fight Nate, it would be retarded to fight Usman.
The Nate fight will sell way more.

What ur missing is that both Diaz and Más dont CARE if they can beat Usman or not. If the Pau was worth it they would gladly get their ass dry humped by MartyWrong. Nate Diaz came up with the idea to start marketing money fights with 'real fighters' for fake belts over title fights, because he knows he isn't an actual contender right now. That's why he called out a shot Pettis off one of the biggest fluke wins I have ever seen. I say that as a huge Diaz fan. It's a smart move. Masvidal realized it was smart and started stealing that approach. They are both doing so because there isn't a chance in hell either are beating Usman. It's clear as day.
If they could become real champions, they would do so and it would mean the world to them. They're doing the equivalent of what poor kids do when they make fun of middle class kids, make fun of them as if financial stability is somehow a bad thing. They can't become champions so they're making fun of smart gameplans that lead to becoming a champion. I don't like Usman but he has done more than either of them with his career in much less time while taking very little damage, outside of his last fight. If he sticks around a while, he'll get a money fight eventually too.
