Bums in here dissing the street jesus didnt know there was so many people that were that close to dana and where sitting around the fight negotiations between Mas and Usman to know what happened.
 
I think his management knows how fragile Jorge's alleged "superstar" status actuall is, and it won't survive the kind of one-sided UD loss he expects to receive from Usman. He's trying to extend Cinderella's night out if you will, by getting him another winnable fight. I might not like it but I understand it's a business. Still, a pro fighter ducking the champion of his division is a bad look.

it wouldnt be for less cash, both fights are draws and depend on the full card. I think we will be seeing more fighters working together to create large scale pay per views.

Let me start by saying I don't care enough about Masvidal to care about who he fights next.
HOWEVER, let me refute your points here:

1) Calling DIaz can be a simple tactic of showing the UFC he has more options.
2) If either fight gets him about the same money, why would he take the bigger risk?
3) A win over DIaz keeps him at the top of the list to get Usman. Beating Usman will take away the chance to beat DIaz for a good payday (since Diaz is not close to a real title shot).
4) He did get a belt. Maybe this suffices for him? (it is, after all, a legit UFC belt!).

All in all, Masvidal is riding a wave. I don't think he deserves to be where he is, but the fact is: he is at the highest level he's ever been, and I do think he has full right to try and make as much money as he can right now. For one fight can bring it all down for him, and I don't think he will ever become a top contender again.

Blame the UFC for caving into Conor's demands. If he can do it, so should all fighters who have been winning and becoming popular.
And right now, Masvidal is the "popular choice" (or flavor of the year).

Second of all, what do you mean the kamaru fight "wouldnt get him by much"... every casual knows diaz from the conor build ups, nobody can even spell Usman's full name to google him even. lets not kid ourselves.

Nates earned half a mil in his last fight by losing, Kamaru earned 350k by winning... You and so many hardcore fans are so disconnected from reality...

Most of this is coming from Usmans manager himself. Not to mention danas comments. People are not always dissing mazvidal by saying he is taking the smarter route. Theres a very good chance he loses to usman and or colby, and probably tyron too.

He best bet is to keep the money train rolling, play it safe with a casual fan friendly diaz fight.

Have we ever seen a title contender dodge a title fight ? It seems that the UFC belt is the graal for every UFC fighters except Masvidal.
