Does anyone on here collect Masterpiece Transformers? For anyone not in the know, they are super detailed, more elaborate versions of the original toys, targeted at adults reliving their childhood. Obviously, they aren't cheap. Buying them new is around $90, and can sell out quick. Some of the more popular ones can get up around $400 used.

So I'd like to buy some, but I'm a bit put off by the price. I had a plan to buy 2, one for me, and the other to sell after a bit of time goes by at a markup, to basically pay for mine. So my question is is this a viable plan? I've been looking around, and can't decide if it's a good plan or not. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Never heard of them, but that's cool. I still have all my old gen 1 transformers sitting in a box, and I'm never getting rid of 'em.

Came in here expecting a tranny thread :icon_sad:

Pics would have been nice, TS.

HappyHaHa, that second pic is sweet.

As a hetero child I played with my toys until they broke.

I'd love to get a few but I just can't justify the price for something that is going to sit on a shelf.

All of them look great so far.

Happy that 1st pic is bad ass.
Dem feels.
My cousin threw his old transformers away when he grew up.
I bet hes kicking himself over it today lol.

I got my brother a MP Megatron (the real Japanese MP) because I broke his when we were kids

damn MP Grimlock is butters

they should make an MP Fortress Maximus

i have the optimus my sister gave me for my birthday a while back. in the box in a closet.

If they are "hot" toys then yes, grab some extras. I bought a few "Walking Dead" action figures up for about $15 each and resold all of them for over $100 each. It's more about the toy then time when selling these kind of things.

Me neither, that's why I'm thinking of buying an extra one, and hopefully can get enough for it to cover the cost of mine. The next couple coming out are Prowl, Wheeljack, and Bumblebee. Bumblebee will be a hot commodity for sure, the other 2, I'm not sure about.

I'm considering getting a few of the Fall of Cybertron line. Not in the same class as Masterpeice but still look cool and much more affordable at 12.99-30.99.
