Marvin's bad day

Yeah Marvin definitely had a bad day.

I suspect that Marvin maybe worked at that restaurant where Marcellus hangs out. Because he's clearly not a hardened criminal but Jules and Vincent knew him already.

And Brad is someone Marvin knew from college or something, maybe Marvin is the one who introduced him to Marcellus in the first place. To help set up this heist the college boys wanted to pull off.

Brad doesn't know Marcellus well enough to be afraid of him, but Marvin clearly does. So when Brad and the gang decide to rip off Marcellus, Marvin steps out and makes a phone call.

"No one that will be missed" - The Wolf

That's Marvin's epitaph :(

That shit is mad funny when Jules and Vincent go into Marcellus' place and the bartender lets them in and immediatley goes what the hell is up with them clothes!?!?

hahahahah

The implied morality of the Pulp Fiction world is clear, all the characters are bad people but the ones who show mercy or try to change get to live, and the ones who don’t, die.

Marvin was a snitch and did nothing to try to save his colleagues. He did not even express guilt or remorse about it. Then the car HIT A BUMP and, through no fault of Vincent, a bullet rearranged Marvin's brains

After Marvin gets his head blown off, Death is sitting next to him in the car probably.

Death took Marvin to the next realm where he got to be a time-traveling samurai, a Green Lantern, the king of Atlantis, a talking shark, and so much more.

I think it's about redemption. Look at all the people in the movie that were given a second chance, and what they did with it.

You ever hear the fan theory that Rufus is Jules Winnfield?

At first I just thought it was open ended. He clearly wasnt involved with robbing Marcellus, because they shot these other guys without hesitation, and the dude who hid in the bathroom, might still be alive if he just stayed there undetected.

But in the beggining of the movie, Vincent and Jules are talkin about how many guys might be up there and they come up with "4 or 5" and say "including our man?"

At first I thought that meant Brad, cos he was the "main offender" but he must have been talking about Marvin. Like maybe Marvin was an informant... but a chickenshit informant who didnt expect or wasnt prepared for the violence he saw.

Marvin also tried to tell them where the suitcase was, and Jules says "I DONT REMEMBER ASKING YOU A GODDAMNED THING"

I wonder if that's cos they didnt want him to reveal himself, or maybe they didnt trust him or something.
Why would it matter if he revealed himself?
The real reason is because he was interrupted during his speech/flow, thats why.

I dunno. I think he was angry he said anything at all until the business at hand was done.

LOL no, but I don't see it.

The one thing we know about Rufus is that he played with all these famous musicians, some of them were old, which would indicate that Rufus has been a musician since the 60's, maybe 70's.

Unless of course he's just lying when he says he played with all those famous people.

But Rufus also gets killed in the massacre, and that doesn't fit with pulp fiction's theme of redemption being rewarded. Jules takes his second chance seriously, and changes his life, and presumably gets to live happily ever after. Vincent wastes his second chance and so he gets killed shortly after.

No fault you say? IPSC bros would eat you alive. He had horrible trigger discipline!

Since this thread is full of pulp fiction fans, I wanted to ask if you thought Jules kills that guy on the couch.

You know when he shoots once and then says, "oh I'm sorry, did I break your concentration?"

They don't really show it very well, so I think the first 20 times I've seen the movie, I thought Jules just shot the couch near the guy, because he was still just trying to scare them at that point.

But then I realized they never go back and shoot towards the couch again, so that guy must have already been dead. So I guess Jules breaks Brad's concentration by one-shotting his friend.

Of course he shot that dude dead. He was part of the theft. He knew they had the suitcase and where it was, and was so nonchalant about it, so it was time to turn up the fuckin heat.
