Its one of the easiest strikes to get through his defense. Ever since his early days to still now, his boxing and midrange game is obviously fairly weak. This is the punch that troubles him the most.

Gus landed quite a bit of them in their fight.

Even pillowfist Shale was able to get some off and force a clinch break lol

MARK MY WORDS.....THE UPPERCUT IS COMING. BONES IS TOUGH AND HAS A GREAT CHIN BUT HE WILL GET AN UPPERCUT SOON THAT WILL EITHER END HIM OR START THE FINISH OF THAT FIGHT

Not saying Humble will be the one but..........

agreed. not sure if rumble will get it done. but those uppercuts were money for daniel not sure why he didnt keep doing them.

im sure he wont think to train for that

The same weaknesses to uppercuts from the Bonnar fight where he got out-boxed in 2009 was still prevalent 6 years later in 2015 against Cormier. Not to mention the fights between that time frame.

He can train all he wants. No fighter is without a weakness no matter how much they train, and this is arguably Bones biggest one. Every fighter has a weakness or tendency. With his height and still terrible boxing technique and footwork, he will fall prey to it.

TS your "Smug Condit" AV makes me lol everytime.

...regarding the thread, Bones was just nom noming on DC's uppercuts...his chin is solid.

If he stands on his tippy toes Daniel won't be able to reach him

So to make it look like there are numerous examples, you showed 5 different angles of each single example? Seems like maybe you’re exaggerating a bit. While you could be right, I think we could find 5 examples of another type of shot he took. I don’t think he’s more likely to fall to any one particular thing.

If u watch his fights youd notice this is the punch he gets hit with most. He has a bad habit of ducking his head into them too. Then hooks follow (specially to the body) and crosses, doesnt get hit often with straights or jabs. Counter uppercuts off head/upper body movement or setup off a combo would be the most devastating due to his poor positioning there.

I didnt have time to go through the Gus fight but he got hit with many uppercuts in that one.

His striking defense is pretty weak against anything he can't defend by just flailing his arms out and sticking his fingers in his opponent's face.

Years later and look where his terrible boxing got him.

His clinch is really good. He arguably has the best elbows in the game and while his kicks have technical issues (which is why they dont have much power) he gets them off quickly and controls range well with them.

But yeah his boxing is pretty bad for such a great fighter.

He did it the whole fight. He was just getting lit up as well. With knees to the stomach and other strikes.

thats the thing. he relies on his chin to get him out of those situations. one of those might eventually put him on roller skates and then lead to a finish. in the diaz vs conor fight, all of nate's shots looked kinda pillow fisted then randomly conor gets rocked by one of em. relying on chin is asking to get rocked.

The only thing is, those short clinch uppercuts don't generate a lot of power.

Conor got rocked by that one because he was loading up on an uppercut. Bit of a different situation.

Agreed...the minute after he's past his prime he's asking to get KTFO...kind of like Anderson :(
