Seriously, it's funny how age can have different effects on different fight. If Fedor ate those same shots from Hunt as he did from Mir he would be gone
Mark Hunt would easily put away Fedor in 2018

Standing yeah definitely I'd favour Hunt now, if Fedor actually tried to grappl with him I could see a good chance of a win though.

I think Crocop is still more shot than his record makes it though, fought a lot of grapplers in Rizin, could definitely see Fedor sleeping him standing although the reverse as well.

All the guys that fight at a high level 40+ years old have something extreme about them. Something so extreme that, even as it degrades with old age it's still leagues above the rest of the division.

You didn't even watch their fight. I know this because Fedor completely outstruck him and Hunt almost completely outgrappled Fedor.

All of those guys had lower milage than someone like Fedor by that point and the Americans were both on steroids.
That said certain styles clearly age well, Randy's cage grinding, Hunt's technical brawling and Hendo's big overhand. Fedor was always very much someone who used his speed/agility to his benefit ala say Roy Jones Jnr so naturally didn't do as well when it started to decline.

he's in mma since 2004, fedor is since 2000.
hunt has 25 fights, fedor has 42, with a three year layoff.
mark has lost half his mma fights.
i mean, i like the guy too, but there's a hierarchy for a reason.
hunt is a marginal top 20 guy in hw, if that.
he just has a chin.

Never heard that but really the striking was a wash with neither guy taking much punishment, Fedor obviously went after Hunt's grappling weakenss very aggressivlye which did give Mark some openings(Hunt ontop can be tough to dislodge as we saw vs Werdum) but ultimately there was only going to be one winner there IMHO. Indeed I tend tot hink Fedor could have finished Hunt quickly with the armbar if he'd been ruthless and cranked it but instead gave Mark a chance to tap which allowed him to escape.
