Mark Hunt VS Ronda Favela Smash trick thread

Haha! He's very friendly when you meet him and very humble. He is not intimidating at all in person and he smiles a lot - but don't ask to spar Muay Thai with him - there was a video they took down or at least I can't find with him chopping down some guy who had won a contest to sparr with him  brutal leg kicks - i think the guy must have annoyed him or perhaps it was part of the fun - but damn he chopped the kid down!

What a terrible contest to win! Spar an irritated Jose Aldo. It would probably look like the kickboxing portion of Bully Beatdown

Came here to see Ronda throw a murderous thug from an overpass in the Favela. False advertising TS...false advertising. But it's for a good cause so I forgive you :)

5% is better than nothing but still low as fk

Hi. I see you are affiliated with the fight team we are working with so not sure why you would not read the pitch as it explains this. The crowdfund is to make a film. The film works to bring far more than money to the social project, it brings attention to the issues facing those involved and much needed pressure on outside factors to address those issues and aid the social project and more importantly the community and communities like Santo Amaro (At least this is the intention). It may even force investment in basic social services in the favela. Films cost money to produce. We are not just giving 5% of money raised for the production to the social project - we are using the back-end returns to again put back - which could all things going well far exceed 100%. I am not sure if you understand film production but its a pretty complex bunch of interconnected co-productions and contractual obligations with sales agents, distributors, broadcasters etc etc. What crowd funding does (And this is explained on the Indiegogo site) is it enables us to retain more of the back-end share. Say we raise 10% (Which is our aim). We effectively own 10%. Once the film breaks even (about an estimated 60% through our sales plan - so after all costs are recouped) then for every 100 dollars earned we take 10. The rest goes to large companies that we have had to do business with to raise the remaining 90%. We (Hill of champions the company) then splits 50% of those back end profits with the social project. I am sorry if you don't like that but effectively I am doing something that no other production company has done - I am truly making a film that gives back but I of course can only do it from the % of the production that I control.

This may seem a little complicated so let me simplify. Right now we are raising 10% of budget. During that time we are donating 5% of anything raised. After this once all obligations are met the production company will then donate 50% of everything thereafter.

Still low as fuck?

HILL OF CHAMPIONS: “the Sons of Santo Amaro” is a feature length documentary following Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighters from a small favela in Rio’s south zone.

1_forum.jpg

Famously accused of supplying the entire south zone of Rio de Janeiro with crack cocaine, Santo Amaro has a history of ruthless drug cartels battling it out in the community for the lucrative drug trade.

2_forum.jpg

For residents, shootouts between the drug gang who controlled the hill against rivals cartels along with the threat of military incursions led by the infamous BOPE Special Forces were an everyday occurrence.

In late 2012 in the wake of a war between the government and the drug cartels, the Brazilian government ordered a military invasion of Santo Amaro. Led by 200 military personnel they have since occupied the community driving the drug cartels underground.

But Santo Amaro has another story, a story of hope, of community and of determination. In 1996 Marlon Sandro founded a social project in Santo Amaro to keep young kids out of trouble and away from the lure of the drug cartels. Eduardo Dantas and Hacran Dias both learned their trade here and Jose Aldo slept here when he first arrived in Rio.

Out of the social project run by our fighters we will follow a young ex-trafficker-turned-fighter as he prepares to take part in his professional MMA d

There are chances to win trips to Rio, Gaming laptops and much more. Loads of signed stuff from the fighters and we even have personalised hoodies for forum members (Provided I can get a conversation going with someone at Sherdog!).

EXCLUSIVE T-SHIRTS & HOODIES: We are printing one of a kind T-Shirt and Hoodies for the film. The design is by the UG's very own MASATO TOYS...

There are EXTRA-EXCLUSIVE hoodies for members of the MIXED MARTIAL ARTS UNDERGROUND forum and hopefully I can offer the same to you guys. The idea will be to have the Sherdog logo on one sleeve and your Av on the other (If Sherdog are not interested then it will be just your AV). You must mention your interest to receive these signature Hoodies when donating towards your perk by specifying you are a Serdog member and your screen-name (if you would like these on the sleeves!).

To do this you may need to follow up by email which is there on the link

"I love this community, the thing that gets me down is the drug traffic, the police coming in here and shooting... I want to give the kids role models, I want to carry on what my cousin started here."

This is one example but every donation gets a little something in return.

That should get them

I had it that she flung someone off a favela underpass but thought better of it as mods might get frisky. As it stands its a legit thread :D - but keep the ideas rolling in. lol

I asked you in a previous thread and I don't know if you answered, TS. If I donate, do I get to compete for the trip? Or is it only if I share the link and then someone donates?
