Mark Hunt and Frank Mir are fighting this Saturday

Let me just say that again, Mark Hunt and Frank Mir are fighting this Saturday. While most of you guys are still talking about UFC 196 and Meathead signing with the minor leagues. I'm sitting here barley holding it together knowing what Saturday night has in store for us.

2 of the most beloved and exciting fighters in the history of our sport. This truly is 9/10 fight for me. Almost guaranteed action and a guaranteed finish.

Obviously a big clash of styles here with Hunt being an expert on the feet and Mir being an expert on the ground. But I'm not counting Frank out in the slightest standing up. And I'd be liar if I said I haven't pictured Frank landing a big shot on Mark and putting him away. I've pictured this fight ending in a thousand different ways and I still haven't settled on one. Just an amazing matchup that nobody could predict. Gonna be some awesome stuff. Undercard for Saturday night also has some great bouts with Magny/Lombard, Case/Matthews, Rawlings/Ham, Smith/Nakai, and Pearson/Laprise.

What are your guys' thoughts on Saturday nights main event? On a scale of 1/10 how epic of a fight is it for you?

I hope Mir can get away with not getting his brain concussed again. Would love to see him win. Very fun fight. I like Hunt a lot, too, but I can never root against Mir and I'm worried.

I just really hope both guys had good camps and are coming in "in shape", so we get to see the best of both of them. Hunt will be more willing to throw caution to the wind and engage than Mir's last opponent (Arlovski), so it should be an entertaining battle.

This is true. Mir is good as a commentator.

For this fight.... awesome matchup. I love both fighters and I honestly do not know who to root for, or who would win. HW is just too unpredictable. I'll probably go for a Mir submission but a Hunt walkoff is something I also want to see.

Bah. I'll go with the hometown favorite. This is going to be Hunt's walk off win.

Unless both fighters gas out, this will be an exciting fight -- and even if they do it'll still probably be action packed. Part of Hunt's charm is that he is never afraid to engage. Other fighters tend to be careful so they don't get taken down into a bad spot against a BJJ wiz. Hunt doesn't give a shit about that.
