Mark Coleman was a brute who never quit

Coleman's style was much more well-suited for Pride rules. Some of those knee finishes he had were wild.

He was showing up on my ig for a while with his alcohol free carnivore diet training videos looked decent. And I believe supposed to box in October but I haven't seen a post of his in a while...BRB checking now.

Edit-
He's 2 years 5 months sober
He got a dog for the first time ever called little hammer I think.
His fight date got moved to December 4th in Atlantic city.
9ancestral tenants bros.

For the love of god, they've got him fighting fomer HW champ 50-8 Montell Griffin who has two wins over James Toney; WTF?!

Seems like a genuinely good person...but I find it hard to give him a ton of credit for his Pride achievments especially due to how much shit was in his system.

I was a big fan of Hammer House back in the day (except Baroni, turns out I was psychic) and I just found this wrestling gif of Mark that shows him brute forcing some guy's anatomy into new adventures:

It goes nicely with his famous trading card:

But the time Mark really blew me away and made me a whole new kind of fan was when old man Coleman had his rematch with Shogun and, no matter how exhausted, he NEVER QUIT BRINGING THE FIGHT TO SHOGUN. Usually fighters take a beating and keep coming forward, but they're just a punching bag and aren't a threat at all. Or they gas and they stop trying to do anything. But I had never seen a fighter (known for gassing) totally gas out and keep coming forward, to the point that he was actually starting to exhaust Shogun. Considering that cardio has always been Coleman's kryptonite, it was one of the most amazing displays of persistence I've ever seen. I know how much it sucks to be completely exhausted and in pain and how tough you have to be to force yourself ahead.

That night Coleman became a fighter that I sometimes think about in hard times. There are only a few fighters who have had that effect on my life.

Share your best memories, Sherbros!
More recent but brutal. Dude was tapping for his life at the World's against our boy, but no tap in wrestling. Lol

I absolutely LOVED watching dangerous GnP wrestlers.

Fry. Severn. Coleman.
These guys were my imprinted idea of Murican tough guys. And proved it.

Don't seem to be many powerful GnP wrestlers these days.
What happened, America?

What happened is we got dweebs like Bo Nickel, and we lost our killer instinct somewhere sir.

BTW you forgot Rampage.

always a fan of Marc Coleman, dude brought it every time. I don't care what anyone says, that takedown attempt on shogun was legit, shogun didn't fall right and lost. that's on him. for marc coleman to come back in the UFC again and have a dominant win against a way younger Bonnar was freaking crazy and awesome to watch. I need to watch that shogun rematch, totally forgot about it. and agree with what a poster said above, the American hardcore GnP'ers were awesome to watch back then. No one is well versed in the art of the ground n pound anymore. seriously what happened? Volk gave me some flashes of American GNP that made me happy. But no one can really utilize it anymore, probably due to technique/the game/etc. WAR COLEMAN!!!! WAR HAMMERHOUSE!!!!!! For a brief period, you could've considered them the HW top dogs, and that was after their UFC Championships. Which is ridiculous. Randleman came back, took out Cro Cop in the prime, and then for him to almost beat Fedor, for about 5-10 minutes, Randleman was the world's best HW IMO. RIP Randleman!!!!! Hammer house for life!!!!
