Too many fighters trying to do a job and take easy tko loss paydays. Mario Yamasaki makes them earn their pay. Hes the last bridge between the golden era 90s-mid 2000s mixfight to the pussified, watered down sport we see today.

Big John is pretty decent too. He knows when not to bumrush a stoppage unlike HERB Dean.

MMA is still doing okay, although the ruleset is pretty fucking mediocre. Feels like its gone backwards. Overseas promotions have all adopted the cage as well, which combined with the ruleset really gives wrestlers and BJJ guys the advantage.

But the UFC though, that's not very okay...subpar fights from WMMA to waterdown PPVs to B and C rate Fight Nights (whose only purpose is to over-saturate the market so other promotions don't get media attention, TV space or marketshare).

There was a period of time where you could watch UFC (on Spike), and DREAM, Sengoku, K-1 (on HDNet) and Strikeforce (on SHO) around the same time. Not to mention Affliction/M-1 Global/WEC as well .It was great following MMA back then. I'd rather there be 3-4 major orgs giving us 1 stacked card a month (thats 4 stacked cards a month) than just 1 major promotion flooding the market with mediocrity.

agreed, too many early stoppages, we need to see more concussions and fighter unconscious to really decide a winner lol

Good stuff but we can still see a bunch of other promotions today you just have to look for it.

Big John was definitely the best referee and he allowed fighters to defend and recover as well. Only stopped fights early a few times.

The average fan isn't. I can always look up ACB, FNG, M-1 fights, although Japanese events are harder to follow. But doesn't change the fact MMA media doesn't even cover them like they used to 3-4 years back. Its everything UFC and Bellator-centric, with the occasional report on Rizin. TV and media has been completely flooded with C rate Fight Nights.

U do know that 50% of the complaints comes from early stoppages?

Someone in the soccer kick thread the other day said fights should be stopped as soon as a fighter is wobbled / rocked and was being serious. Please no more of those fans.

I'm glad the MMA media doesn't cover them.

The more they do the more they obsess about every little detail changing the promotion into a pile of shit that over polices and stops fights early. As long as there is a way to watch them all that's all that matters to me and there is.
