I have noticed over the past few years, specifically on Brazil cards that he does a bad job reffing fights, and you would have to convince me that he isn't doing this to seek attention.
Yamasaki is Brazilian with Japanese heritage like Lyoto. I used to think he is Asian-American and some of you might think this as well. He seems to like the attention of his native crowd even if it is negative attention.
Wanderlei vs. Rich Franklin II, Yamasaki was too close to the fighters. I am rewatching the fight right now and Wanderlei bumped into him at least once evading an attack by Rich because Mario was too close to them. It also seems he purposely gets into the center of the camera's view while the fight was taking place.
There was the time when Erick Silva got DQ'd by MY against Carlo Prater but Rogan proved it was bullshit in the replay.
Maybe he was a latch-key kid growing up? Anyone else notice this? I haven't even watched the Sevchenko fight but I am sure what Mario's reasons are for doing what everyone describes as a terrible job.
