While re-watching some classic fights, something came through my head.

Erik Morales vs. Marco Antonio Barrera and Rafael Marquez vs. Israel Vasquez. Two of
greatest trilogies in the history of sport.

The first fight between Barrera and Morales was the super-bantamweight category, so
as the first three between Vasquez and Marquez.

If all there four fighters were at the sime time, in the same weight-class, how would you matchup them, and who do you think was going to win in those matchups?

My Matchups would be:

Marco Antonio Barrera vs. Israel Vasquez.

reason? - Barrera in the super-bantamweight division was know as an agressive fighters who would destroy his opponents body before taking the head off, Israel Vazquez had great skill on the inside and one punch knockout power in his left hook. These two would trade vicious shots on the inside until one of them could not stand anymore.

Winner? - Barrera. Better speed and combinations. His volume of punches would be too much for Vazquez, and when in trouble, Barrera could keep the fight on the outside with his left jab. Barrera by TKO 8.

Erik Morales vs. Rafael Marquez.

reason? - Marquez, was arguably the biggest puncher ever in the bantamweight division. He lost some of his power in the super-bantamweight, but he was still a devastating puncher. Marquez, out of the four is probably the most technically sound boxer, great left jab, handspeed, awesome combinations and a devastating straight right. Morales would be the close second in the technical aspects, good jab, exellent movement and balance, IRON jaw, and a blistering over-hand right. Morales always fights back when he gets hit, it would be more of a boxing match until one of them gets hit hard, then it would become a brawl.

winner? - Erik Morales. Whow, that's a hard one. Two devastating punchers with good boxing skills. Marquez lost some of his power in the super-bantamweight, but the still could hit like a freight train. Morales could knock people out could with single punches (Angel Chacon, Jose luiz Bueno), but he usually beat them down while moving forward, always in balance. The difference here would be the chin. Marquez always had a soft chin, he has a good defence, but he got knocked down and out before, while Morales had an iron jaw, never really went down until fighting Pacquiao for the second time. Marquez had problems when he couldn't hurt Vazquez, Morales has a better chin than Vazquez. That would be the difference. Morales by split decision 12.

What about if you flip the matchups? How do you see those matchups working themselves out? I kind of feel like Barrera and Morales were the better fighters (take nothing away from Marquez and Vazquez) and take either match-up

The purpose of the thread is to create your own matchup and point who you think
would be the winner of each match.
